End-of-life and Recycling
The supply chain commitment for the circular economy
To create a circular model for our products we need to ensure that they are compatible with end-of-life (EOL) management systems and technologies in the countries where they are sold, whether they are rigid plastics, extruded plastics or biodegradable and compostable bioplastics.
We are engaged in numerous innovative projects in collaboration with the main players in the supply chain, at domestic and European levels: raw material manufacturers, packaging manufacturers, the food industry and large-scale distribution, public bodies, collection, recovery and recycling consortiums, recycling plants and manufacturers of recycling machines and certification bodies.
Of particular note:
- Feasibility study of a recycling supply chain for post-consumer extruded polystyrene and its reintegration in food uses (Profood – ProXPS);
- Study for the simplification and/or replacement of multi-material products;
- Study for the replacement of additives and colourings not recognisable by the infrared (NIR) selection systems of recycling plants with solutions that are easy to identify.
